Home Make Pasta Sauce

Today's menu. Home made tomato sauce pasta. It's healthy, light and yummy. Eat more without guilt. Haha

For the sauce:

5 tomatoes - diced finely
1 yellow onion - diced
A dash of thyme flakes
1 cup white wine
Pasta water

Method:
1) heat up olive oil in a wok, stir fry the onions for 3-4 mins, add in the tomatoes and thyme flakes.
2) keep stirring until tomatoes are soft, add in 1 ladle of pasta water.
3) add in the wine, salt and pepper to taste.
4) if the sauce is too dry, add in 1 more ladle of water and boil for 5 mins.
5) serve it on the pasta of your choice and enjoy!

Ikea Inspired Baked Salmon

So long never update my blog already! But that doesn't mean i did not cook at all. I was quite busy with other stuff. Well today i shall post one dish that i cooked for dinner just now. My girl was craving for Ikea baked salmon today. She couldn't go out as she was revising for her exam. So i decided to try out the dish to satisfy her craving.

Ikea inspired Baked Salmon

Ingredients:
1 salmon fillet
Some baby potatoes
A handful of french beans
Parsley flakes

Hollandise Sauce:
2 egg yolks
1 teaspoon mustard
1 teaspoon lemon juice
100g of melted butter


Method:
1) Rub the salmon with olive oil, salt & pepper to season and baked in oven at 230 degree celsius for 5 mins together with the french beans.
2) Rub the potatoes with skin on with olive oil, salt and parsley flakes, baked at same temperature for 20 mins.

While the dish is cooking, prepare your sauce.

1) Put the yolk in a bowl over the simmering pot of water.
2) Whisk in the mustard and lemon juice.
3) Pour in spoon by spoon of the melted butter and keep whisking.
4) once the sauce thickens, leave it aside and starts to prep your dish on a plate. Pour the hollandise sauce over the salmon and enjoy!
